The January 2011 UK VAT increase to 20% will not affect the prices charged by Amazon for Irish customers - because we were always charged the Irish rate of VAT anyway.
Amazon will automatically add 1.5% to the UK prices to account for the 21.5% Irish VAT rate.
There is still no dedicated Amazon.ie site - but Irish orders can be made on the Amazon UK site. Prices are in Sterling - and deliveries to Ireland normally arrive in 3 to 5 days.
If you are looking for a Kindle (ebook reader) - for delivery to Ireland you need to go to the Amazon USA site
Most "marketplace" sellers on Amazon won’t deliver to Ireland - so to be sure of getting delivery to Ireland - choose items with the Seller shown as Amazon-Uk.
